What daily care helps between dental visits?

For routine care, brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and clean between teeth once a day using floss or another appropriate interdental cleaner. Our toothpaste guide can help you compare options. After a procedure, follow the specific instructions below and your clinician's directions about the treated area. Your hygienist will tailor this at your next exam.

Does mouthwash replace brushing or flossing?

No. A rinse may be useful for a specific purpose, but it does not replace mechanical cleaning. Products differ: some freshen breath, while therapeutic rinses have ingredients intended for particular dental needs. Ask which type is appropriate for you, especially if you have dry mouth.

What if bad breath or bleeding persists?

Arrange an examination rather than repeatedly masking symptoms. Diet changes can affect breath, but persistent odor, bleeding, or discomfort may have another cause.
